Hello.

If I buy an IrDA adapter for my PC; will it work to transfer files from/to these phones? I mean... what's exactly the process to install it? Should I install the drivers that come with the adaptor... and then what? Is there a resident application on the PC waiting for some dispositives to send something? And how do I send files TO the phone? With the adapter software?

I need to ask this to be sure that if I spend this money to buy one, it'll work.

Here, some questions a also have:

1) What is the transfer speed in optimous conditions?
2) Is the same to use an USB than a serial adaptor? Will both work on WXP?
3) I can't send files to the memory stick of the phone... can I? Only to the memory of the phone, right?

Well, thanks you so much in advance,.

well I don't know if you can do it with an irda, but with bluetooth or with the usb cable provided by SE, you can transfer files from your cell phone to your pc and pc to the memory stick or the phone memory with the File Manager that comes in the PC Suite of Sony Ericsson...
if you are considering buying an irda, think it twice.. bluetooth is better...

Well... yes, I already have the included USB cable and I do transfers over it actually. But I was thinking of having IrDA too; since it's cheaper than BT and I won't use it that much (I use primarly the USB).

How come you say it won't work? Shouldn't it?

Thanks

Sure an Ird should work, just follow the instructions, but dont expect transfer speeds as quick as a USB cable.
