I been looking around at the site and I noticed there's a strong disagreement with the gamma issue on the k750. This is my opinion on it.

The reason I suspect with these gamma differences is to hide the noise and flaws with night pics with this phone. If I am right then the ppl at SE are very ingenius indeed.

To show what I mean conduct two tests. Firstly take a photo in a completely dark room with night mode on and light on..after taking the picture and after the post processing is complete you can see that the picture looks astonishing; looks like the complete room has been properly lit, however when you transfer the pic to pc it kinda looks a bit crap, by adjusting the gamma you get the original photo that appeared on the screen back. Now for the second test go outdoors and take a night mode shot (switch on light if you want, but it won't prolly won't make any difference since it's power is small) the sky (if black enough) looks kinda noisy on screen right? however when you transfer to pc the sky should now be plain black in colour and look really good. Increase the gamma however the same that happened with the first test will apply to this, one problem: extreme noise is presented back at you.

In my opinion it is a cunning technique that uses the human visual system at it's advantage, changing the gamma thus also the luminance values makes the flaws invisible to human eye and a photoshop brightness jobby can fix. Easy for normal ppl with just the need to take photo quik edit and print/save onto hard disk.

This is the same technique used in digital watermarking. So for those that are complaining I think SE would be very reluctant to change it. However saying that they did decrease the bitrate for video recording (imo to keep within limits for MMS sending not sure though) and changed it back cos of complaints
