w800i volume too low |

Hi,
Does anybody else find the volume too low while talking to another person (regardless if one calls a landline or cell phone number)? Any ways to bypass this, i.e. increase the volume to hear the other side better?
Thanks.

Nope. The other party can hear loud on my w800. Never heard any complaints from them.

I meant the other way around. I can't hear the party *I am* talking to loud enough. I tried to increase the volume by depressing the side button (same one for magnifying when using camera), but it max'd out and still I couldn't hear loud enough.

yeap, i've noticed the same thing. it's only loud when i use the headset or speakerphone. i also can't shut off the care sounds (autofocus and shutter) even while in silent mode. |

Woooops!
I cover myself with dust. The volume level is perfect... after taking off the plastic protective cover. It fooled me really good. 'Thought it was perforated at first. I apologize. My w800i works great so far.
Cheers from Canada.

oh, lol, let me try that.=p
do you have the same problem regarding the shutter and autofocus sounds even while in silent mode? it's really embarrassing to have people turn around and look whenever i take pictures. |

Even without that plastic or anything blocking the earpiece, I still find the earpiece volume too weak even at max volume. |

i agree KristianM.
the volume is way too low, esp. compared to the SE k508i and most Nokias.
i've already upped the + to the max - it's still too low.
i've read this in other reviews online.
is it a known problem? is there any way to overcome it? im very annoyed. |

Naaah,
One position does not fit all. Minor movements (i.e. sliding phone up & down the ear) should take care of the volume strength/clarity. Try a small tilt, too. If it's still too weak, your phones have a physical defect.
BTW, I bought a clear silicon protective cover. Thanks god it doesn't cover the earpiece holes

Yeah my phone's volume is too low as well. I'm using a Seimans m56, and it's really quiet. And i'm positive that there are no dust protectors or anything covering it. it sucks when i'm outside.... |

Wudnt u be able to take the speaker from a Nokia (seen as there loud) and put it in the W800i?
I'm presuming this will make it a little louder, if not then i suggest u complain to SE and see if u can get a new firmware where the volume is highered just like the K750i was.
