k750i, I'm such a dumbass! |

Hey guys,
I got tired of the cheap plastic sounds my k750i was doing and I read on a forum you could get rid of those sounds by placing a small sheet of paper between the battery and the battery cover.
I did so, and it makes less sounds indeed, but now there's absolutly no way I can remove the battery cover anymore. Seriously it's like it's been glued to the phone!! Maybe I'm doing something wrong, I used to simply push the cover with my thumb, maybe I should press somewhere to release the cover from the phone's grasp.
Please help !!
thanks

welcome to Esato
my K750 battery cover was extremely tight when I first got it so I can only suggest the method I used then to remove it.
if you press down (towards the bottom of the phone) on one side of the little metal bar on the battery cover, then press down on the other side, eventually it should cmoe a little free and you can wiggle it off by repeating those steps

Thanks masseur for the quick response,
But it won't move .... AT ALL! It's difficult to get a grasp on it, but it's not even the issue. Even if I wanted to brutally rip it off with all my strength, I wouldn't be able to do so.
Maybe I should try to introduce a knife below the camera cover to use as a lever but I'd like to know if it's possible to get the original black casing just in case I need to replace it.
If you have any idea, don't hesitate cause I'm desperate here
Thanks a lot |

ok, well the other suggestion I give is the put the phone perpendicular in the palm of your hand so your three middle finger nails can push down on the metal bar as you support the phone with your other hand
good luck!

try pressing down hard on the battery cover, while pressing the button and pushing it out. |

I had that. It will come eventually. For now use one of those rubber thin pads used to get jars open for the kitchen. |

Try to budge it from the top of the cover with your nail. If not, use something small like a swiss army knife to budge it.

Hopefuly I work in Geneva right now, so I didn't have to go too far to find a swiss army knife, I just asked my neighbor if he had one by any chance, and he did!
I finally removed that stupid sheet of paper and kinda ruined the back cover as I expected Nothing really serious, a few scratches. Do you guys know if the whole back panel (back cover and camera cover) can be replaced?
thanks everyone for your help and support |

RIGHT! Finally managed to get the battery cover off after trying for nearly an hour with all the solutions and possibilities already mentioned...but to no avail.
This is what you do:
Find a plastic barrelled marker pen (not metallic because of the possibility of scratching the phone). Hold the phone in one hand, upright, and then using the flat back end of the pen and the pen barrel for leverage, push it up hard against the smiley silver ridge of the cover, whilst gripping the rest of the phone in the other hand....and Bingo, off pops the cover..!
One thing: Place a piece of tissue paper between the cover and the pen before you do this, just to protect against scratching.
This worked for me so hope it helps you out. The other suggestions sounded fine in theory, but I originally had trouble just putting the cover on when first setting up the phone so something drastic was needed!
Sony Ericsson, please take note: Great phone but ohhh so much hassle with the cover!!!

That was a lot easier than taking off the cover for me...
Using fingernail, slide it under the simcard while pulling the card up slightly towards you. Then gently at the same time and using finger (on other hand) just push up the card from the other end. It should slide out easily so you can then pull it out with thumb and forefinger.
Anyway, hopefully won't be going through all this for a while again. I only had to because I needed to transfer the numbers from my old sim card in my old Sony CMD-J70. The LCD screen gave on me finally, hence the purchase of the k750i and the need to get the other numbers back! |

@datashed - Good for you pal When I bought this unit, I had some difficulty at first putting back the battery cover - intact When I think I manage to insert it fully, the left side was inserted not parallel to the right one and vise-versa
I would suggest however then that for you to use the WD-40 as your last recourse . . . though I am not 100% certain if it will wreck havoc to the integral wirings etc. inside
