well, someone else made a thread like this for the EU phones... but not very many people are talking about the hong kong phones so...

my phone setup is:
prgCXC 125955_HONG_KONG_CL R1L002 <-- edited: 125955 from 124955

customization
CDA 102338/8 R5A
cxc 125953 R1L002
HONG_KONG

I have tried updating from SEUS but I end up getting the same R1L f/w again and I read this happens to other HONG_KONG phones too. People have also said that hong_kong is always a week behind or something so we have to wait for our update. I personally don't know anything about this stuff but I think there needs to be a topic so us hong_kong users can have a more organized conversation.

If you are using a Hong kong phone and you HAVE got it updated to R1N.., please post in here and let us know how. otherwise, just post your problem so maybe someone can help you fix it?

I don't think it's available yet. Someone wrote to SE who replied that it should be updated soon.

If I can't get it after this weekend, I think I'm going to take the ~$US 10 hit and use DaVinci to flash to a EU customization, and then do the R1N update. As a bonus, I'll be able to silence the camera shutter with silence mode.

I have the exact same setup as you do.

Except mine is prgCXC 125955_HONG_KONG_CL R1L002

I was also considering flashing to EU for the simple fact that hong_kong phones cannot search through their contacts with multiple characters. I didnt really care about the camera sound but that may be a bonus as well.

unfortunately.. search and read manuals as I might... i must be very dumb but I dont understand how to use davinci to change my phone to a EU phone. I heard you have to change the CDA & IMEI to change the region.. but it's against the law to change the IMEI (and you can't change IMEI w/ davinci?). Plus, will changing the region make it so we can't use SEUS to download future updates?

i'm sooo lost...

ps, i think its 10 british pounds... not us dollars

I would like to know a locale that is providing the R1N035 f/w update to all phones without restrictions...

But so much for UTOPIA [addsig]

Yeah I saw that warning on DaVinci as well. I guess we are out of luck unless SE decides to release an update for HK CDA's. Although from what I've read about the CDA fiasco with the P800? or P900, I'm not too optimistic.

The only thing I can think of is to write SE and complain, hopefully put some pressure on them to release it.

Guess I'll go do that now.

This thread is for k750i user who wants to upgrade their phone (HONG KONG) to R1N035.

My phone has the following:
prgCXC 125955_HONG_KONG_CL R1L002

CXC125932 R1D

CDA 102338/8 R8A
cxc 125953 R1L002
HONG KONG

PA19

The only difference from yours is R8A instead of R5A.

I tried to update 3 days ago, and I only upgraded to R1L. I had R1J before.

My phone doesn't have the camera sound when it's on silent mode! This surprised me because with k700i, you got the sound even in silent mode!

i've emailed SE about the firmware update. waiting for reply. But i also told them about how I need multi-character contact searches because it really is a pain to search by the first letter when you have 30 names that start with "S"

I don't know about you guys.. but i don't mind the camera sound.. i just want R1N's better camera quality, and EU_1's multi-character contact search.

If anyone has changed their k750i's region from hong_kong to EU_1 please share with us your experience. Thank you
