I have just returned from the CEBIT Eurasia fair and had the chance to use at least some of the features of the P800:
- It does have the Memory Stick Duo and most importantly it is also compatible with all the memory sticks which are used in Sony digital cameras and so on, so it is expandable up to 128MB
- It is Java enabled and real Java and not only Mophun stuff. (By the way so is the T300!)
- It is definitely not big as some of you might think. I really fits in your hand. When you compare it to the 7650, 7650 is like a brick!
- In the 7650 by the way you are not able to use all the mighty(!!!) 4 MB as memory, because around 0.5 MB are already used up for applications.
- You can use the camera also with the flip closed, I didn't know that until today!
- You can choose between the external memory (MS Duo) and internal memory (12 MB) when you want to store something!
- The video clips are really flawless, the "No Doubt" clip was on so I think it is standard on all the P800 (???)
- Pictures taken with the camera look really OK on the screen, some taken beforehand, by the SE people I guess, looked much better than what I tried, so I assume it is possible to take very good pictures with it!
- It plays the MIDI files and MP3 files very well!
- The games are a bit difficult to play but they look great! and they are playable at the horizontal position.
Some down sides to it:
- It is unfortunately still a bit slow, but the guy said that it is because the particular phone was a prototype!
- It hangs and you have to reset it from time to time! Prototype?
- The jog dial is 5-way usable that means you can scroll with it, click it like our joystick on T68, and you can also pull it up and down sidewise if you know what I mean, but it is a bit difficult to use this last trick. But I guess I can get used to it!
- The Word, Excel etc. files are viewable with it, but they can be viewed only in vertical position. I didn't see it because they were not loaded, but the guy said so!

Well guys I think this is all I can remember for now! If I rememebr something else I 'll post it here again!

Oh, by the way, it is available only from November on at least here in Turkey, if nothing goes wrong the guy said!

And for the ones who are eager to know about the Nokia 6610 and 7210 they are the same machines with different looks! 6610 looks much better!
Thanks and see ya all!

By the way the text input with the virtual keyboard is easy and fast, at least faster than T68 and I mean the appearing on the screen when you click the letters. The handwriting recognition is really very successful, you'll be satisfied I think!

And most important fact I forgot to mention before is it will cost around 900 Euro without contract! So it is a bit expensive, but when you use this phone you will not even think comparing it to 7650! At least this is my opinion!

Questions are welcome!

I think you are mistaken when you say it can take existing memory sticks. It can only take memory stick duo, and the duo range does not yet have as many varieties of card available...

Andrew regarding the MS Duo it is what the guy said to me and he said that Memory Stick Duo is a new technology of the sticks but the other ones can also be used, I asked twice to make sure, but again he can be mistaken also!

Hey guys,

The catalogue I took at the stand of SE confirms that the user memory capacity is expandable up to 140MB with the Memory Stick (exact translation)

Best regards

Yes, the P800 rocks! But I am worried that the system will be to slow. Then I will not buy it.

Can you use the P800 without a SIM card so you could use it on a plane?

@Ejasim

Yes you can. But you don't have to take out the SIM card, you just switch it of in the phone system I think or there is a seperate button on the side of the Phone.
