I´ve got a Dutch Sony-Ericsson folder, I've got it when I went to Sony. At the back, you can see all the specifications, and it says:
Predictive Text Input (which I think is T9): Yes
So you're questions about this are solved  |

i think you only got t9 when the flip is closed and you want to send a sms..
i want to know the speed when you send a sms with the pen  |

I hope it will have the T9 like you can have on a palm, when you start a word, it will display a small list of words which start with that letter, or combination. That would be great! |

I think T9 is something that can only really be used with a mobile style keypad. Predictive text input is T9.

Not quite, because T9 is one way (it's more like a program) of predictive text input but not all predictive text input is T9.
Like beer is nice but not all nice things are beer!! |

And SE tends to call the handwriting recognition as "predictive texting", but it's still not T9.
Now that they have this really nice T9 on T68 (I actually like it more than Nokias), it would be plain stupid not to have that on P800 as well. |
