Using bluetooth with the computer = usb cable? |

Hi!
I curently own a W800 and transfer files with the PC via the USB cable. I was wondering if I could use the BT to do the same; I buy an USB BT Adaptor, and then will I be able to see the contents of the memory stick, phone memory as a removeable unit to copy files from / to? And use the Disc2Phone software?
if that's so... the speed remains the same, right? The limiting speed is give by the Fast Port on the SE Phone?
Thanks in advance- |

i would have to say a memory stick reader would be much faster than either option, but cabled is probably (no experience here) faster than bluetooth as bluetooth is not even as fast as usb1.1 which is slowwwww. |

Oh... and by the way; using USB 1.1 or 2.0 is the same if the speed is limited by the phone, right? I called up Ericsson and they told me the transfer speed was about 115 KBs per second... which I'm pretty sure it isn't! |

in my experience bt is slightly faster than that rubbish usb. but card reader is the best solution because of 1.price 2.unmatched speed 3.user friendly

I use both cable and BT adaptor and they are almost same, only thing you can't see with usual soft stick over BT |

Bluetooth is efficient in seding small files but is depressingly slow while transferring large files....the best option and also possibly the cheapest method is a memory card reader as many have mentioned above.

Yes... but the thing about the memory reader is that I have to put out / in the memory EVERY TIME I need to do some updating! And I pretty change my MP3 every night to take them to the office the next day... besides; putting the mem. out is kind of difficult!
So, if I use bluetooth, what exactly would I have to do to copy... let's say, a MP3? With which software? Can I see the removeable drive as with the USB cable?
And anyone has something more on the speed transfers of each?
Thanks again |

Beaming a file is quite simple...(in windows XP) all U ve 2 do is right click the file...send as...bt. D comp searches for Ur phone & it starts transfering as soon as U accept on d phone...initial pairing of d comp & d phone is required...also on my P900 I ve enabled always accept after pairing...so no delay what so ever...d only problem is dat it saves d file on d temp folder in d internal memory of d fone & I have 2 manually transfer it 2 d external...hence large file r not possible on d P900 as internal is only 16MB. But definatly better dan USB...I hate wires. Honestly I ve stoped beaming compleatly after I tried d card reader...trust me...anybody would...its much much faster & simpler dan both bt & usb...and ofcouse cheaper. |
