W800i lights wont go off in Profile "Car" |

If I put my W800i in the profile "in Car" (Swedish translation) the light wont turn off. It NEVER turns off. Only in that Profile.
Are there any settings that can be changed so I can choose if I want the light to be on or off??
Or is it another FW fault to put in the list....

It doesn't on K750I either for some bizarre reason they are designed that way so not a problem.
Although does come in useful when playing some games and just as your thinking the bloody thing goes dark on you!

'In car' profile is meant to be used with light constantly turned on so you could easily find your phone in car when it's dark e.g. It can be disabled in settings, profiles, edit, light, automatic.

correct - the light's are on for convenience but also on the assumption that the car profile includes charging so the lights don't suck your battery dry! |

I have been asked endlessly by Nokia 6100 owners how to get thier backlight to stay on when in car profile but it can't be done.
(Nokia 6100 was very popular business phone in 2004 in Auckland)
Good on SE for providing this feature.

How come my Car profile doesn't have this "light" option under Edit Profile? Or will this option only appear if the handset is connected to a car accessory? |

Neither in mine! There are no light option anywhere. Are there a light option in K750??

Mine doesn't have it either. It seems they have left out the ability for the user to choose the light status and it is chosen by profile selection only.
I put car profile on (no accessory attached though), and the screen doesn't go into sleep mode. (screen saver comes on unless you disable it)

Try this way 1st choose that profile, then settings, display, light, auto. If I change setting this way it affects only current profile- so you get the same result. This worked on all se i've seen, but i don't know for those 2.

there is no "light" option in the K750 display menu. Atleast not in an Optus branded K750 from Australia. |

@Sopskyffel
So you place your phone in the Mobile Holder (Cradle) and the light stays on.
Why is this a problem?
It's easy to read at a glance (day or night) and you don't have to press an extra key to bring the phone off Standby screen while driving.
It's not like it's running your battery flat. The HCA-60 is charging it up!

Put the phone into the cradle, then go to the settings and put the light on Automatic mode, this works for me, so I don't see why it shouldn't work for you.
