I have successfully got mini-opera working OK and with English menu and apparently can access all web sites such as my HSBC bank account. But will this leave me vulnerable to the viruses that poliferate on the www?

Thoughts would be appreciated

Not unless you are running the Windows operating system on your phone as that is what 99% of viruses and trojans etc are targetted at. Avoid Windows and you'll be happy!
