Hi to all;
Today i went to Cebit-Bilisim Istanbul event and find some time check the new phones. But today is the first day of the event so i have a hard time to check all the phones.I dont have to much to say about the new Panasonics.I dont like the low-end model and the high end 87 haves only a one working prototype and they say its not fully functional.Camera isnt working at the moment.Screen is good .Clear and rich colors.Other than that i have nothing to say(Everybodys taste is different so maybe its different for people to people but i dont like the design of the new Panasonics.87 looks like a very cheap phone in the real life)Same thinks go for the 6610 and 7210.I dont like the 7210s Xmas tree design but i do love the solid feel and elegance look of the 6610.Both devices are fast and haves very very good screens.
Solid images under the extremely bright projectors. But they only have 2 working phones on the show and they send it to a tv program for about and hour long i dont want to wait them to return.Btw: Center of the attention is the Nokia 7650.That model simply stole the hole show.
Finally i saw the the P800 in real life! They put a lot of dummy phones on the show but also they have 3 working P800 s with memory stick-duo s .They say they expect 850-900Euros.But the Turskish market is a little different (We have some heavy custom taxes)maybe it ll be cheaper in the other countrys who knows. For me that price is extremly high.(For an example : sim free Nok 7650 with warranty is 600-610 Euro that price also includes the tax.)First phone went off after 4-5 minutes of playing.Battery is dead.I found the other working prototype on the SE stand and waiting for my 'turn'to inspect(Everybody want s to check that P800 on the SE stand and billions of questions)I have to say : I dont like the 'feel' and the 'look' of the P800 when its on my hand.(Remember : T68i is better than its pictures in the real life )it feels like a some kind of a 'toy' (walkie-talkie).I checked the 2 games. They both have very good 3d performance.Mib looks good but you have to lost your 3 lifes to exit the game maybe its my fault but nobody knows how to exit the game on the SE stand at the moment.Car racing haves very good graphics and also very fast game playing(i cant find how to steer! But i can accelerate)I checked the video performance (Like the video on the www it haves a 'No-doubts' video clip on it.)its very good.I tryed to listen the mp3 performance but you know that kind of shows..everywhere is full of ad musics and volume is extremly high..i stick the phone to my ear but i can bearly hear the mp3 s i dont have a clue about the quality. So far after 7-8 minutes of playing/inspecting the phone i dont face a crash.I asked them about the reability of the OS they say its good its not in its final shape but good(Their words)
Somehow i feel like i am using a different type of pocketpc2002 sw....
maybe its the menus..maybe the whole UI i dont know. There is nothing very similar thinks but its closer to win os rather than the palm os.Bad think is the screen.I expect a similar or a better screen than the Nok 7650 but its not better or equal....screen is not very bright also i dont like the contrast ratio. The colors of the os is very light.I took a few pictures with it(also under the same light conditions i took a few shots from a Nok 7650)Nok pictures looks a lot better than the SE unit.Maybe they ll look different on the pc screen. But on the phone screen Nok is the winner.I tryed to capture a few shots of the games on the P800 with my real digitall cam (Sony DSC-P5)but i face with problems : No matter how hard i tryed i cant capture a good picture of the games .With out the flash it reflects my camera on its screen and i capture my picture! If i use flash it reflects the flash and more than half of the screen not seen.I tryed every angle and even tryed to take a shot under a desk!(Them look very weird to my face!)
with out luck.I have a fw pictures of it.I dont have a web site to upload but anybody want to take a close look just drop me an e-mail to : vipracing@turk.net i ll scale the pictures with photoshop and i ll send it .(I have to scale down..each picture is around 1.1 MB)maybe my bad quality pictures gives a little idea.
OS is fast! No matter how i tryed to switch the programs it responds very quick(if i have to compare with a different machine i can say : video peroformance is better than my ex Palm m515 and some old pocket pc s ...os speed is close to a Palm).Another big plus is the hand writing recog.system.Its very good .It responds very well.Maybe better than my Palm. Also i do like the www browser of the p800.It s faster than my Palms 'Blazer' browser.I also checked the other featuress but you guys allready know the other functions. For me :
Low downs : Screen quality and the feel of the P800 on my hand + high price.(if the price estimation is correct)
Pros : Very good all in one type device. Video/web/Mp3 hand writing ,notes, games and the list goes on its a real entertaintment machine than a phone .I hope they ll produce a much more good looking all titanium gray or a jet-black style phone.
I bealive 3 rd party sw will make this phone a lot better.

Thanks for the review LiquidSnake,
About the screen:

("I expect a similar or a better screen than the Nok 7650 but its not better or equal....screen is not very bright also i dont like the contrast ratio. The colors of the os is very light.")

but at this site http://www.phonearena.com/htmls/read_reviews.php?id=242
under "What people say about the prototype" it says:
"The touch screen light is remarkable and is perfectly bright under all circumstances."

So.. there are divided opinions about the screen!!!

Hi to all again
ohm:thanks
mr_miu: I am not a pro i maybe wrong but i have a change to compare both phones screens under those bright lights in every possible angle.'Maybe the touch screen light' means it haves a good lighting system. But i said Nokias screen looks better under that lights.I hope it ll be my bad.Beacuse i really like the concept of the P800.
flawless: thank you it ll be nice 4 me 2
