The files dont go in mp3 (i know, weird isnt it). They need to go in mssemc/media/audio

no no no...what u have to do to create them like is make sure u follow the format they use...that is u need to have a folder for the artist, then a subfolder (usually the name of the album) and then u can have the actual mp3 file...not sure if it makes sense...and the folders can be named whatever u want u just have to have that same amount of folders...
can't wait till we have chips implanted in our brains and the size issue goes back to being something else.

Hmm.. I'm a musician, and one reason I'm thinking about buying the w800i is because I'd like to be able to transfer the pieces I'm working on, faster onto the mobile (instead of using bluetooth with my K700i).

I read somewhere else, that mp3 files needs to have id3 tags also. Is this true? Does this mean, that in order for me to do what I want to do, I have to put id3 tags on the mp3 file, and copy it into 2 sub folders of the media directory?

Why cant SE make MP3 transfer / manipulation & playback as simple to do as in the samsung E720? In this respect the E720 has the upper hand! With no music sync option on the W800, one should not have to rely on disc2phone to transfer tracks to the media player!

Three things. 1) MP3s saved on the memory stick are not available on phone whilst phone still plugged into PC. 2) ID3 tags are not required, though they can help with the following. 3) to display correctly in W800, you need directory named with artist, within that another directory named with album, and mp3s in that directory (all in the mp3 root directory.) If you are lucky, disc2phone software will do this automatically for you - more likely if id3 tags set.
