hi i am from India ( i know this is the European forum )
i actually wanted to find out something about 3G. here in India only GPRS and EDGE is available but 3G may roll out pretty soon.
I wanted to ask for 3G is a new SIM card required if the current phone is GSM or is it like a service activation like GPRS? also on an average what speeds to 3G networks pull of and are the Video calls worth it?
i read that Europe has a very good 3G coverage which is why i am asking this question here. thanks |

you dont need to upgrade your sim,but you have to have a 3g phone.here in south africa our video calls are the same price as normal voice calls-but the coverage is not so good currently.they quite clear though,

Actually you'll need a new 64K sim card for video calls to work effectively.

In South Africa there's no differentiation made between 3G and normal GPRS...You only pay for what you use whether it be through 3G or GPRS.
Video calls are also priced the same as normal voice calls to encourage peopel to use 3G.
