is it safe to use a charger with the plastic prong snapped off? |

I've recieved a Samsung phone with a faulty screen to fix today (which I've somehow managed to do!), and the charger that came with it has come with the third plastic prong at the top of the plug (It's a UK plug) snapped off.
I've managed to get it into a socket with the assistance of a plastic stylus (Perhaps I shouldn't have done! ), and tried it briefly with a spare batt and PCB I've got, and it appears to work.
The question is, is this charger safe to use in this fashion? Will it blow up whatever I'm charging, will the charger itself go pop, or possibly fuse the house? Any electricians or experts here?

It will not damage the phone or your homes electrical system as the plastic earth pin is only there to open the protective shutters on the socket. The charger itself has no need to be earthed as it is double insulated.
The only dangerous part of nor having the earth pin on this charger is that you need to poke something into the earth hole to open the protective flaps which is potentially dangerous, especially if you use a metal item to poke in the hole.
I would have alook on Ebay for another charger. |

Thanks for the feedback so far.
Sadly I don't have the prong - doesn't seem to have come with the charger, must've come off when the seller was packing it.
Good news though, the seller has agreed to buy me a new charger and send it to me! A good, honest seller on Ebay, they're becoming quite rare!
