K750i - Gmail no longer working? |

I got a Sony Ericsson K750i with T-Mobile at the weekend. I set it up to use Gmail with no problems, it worked perfectly first time. However, as of last night, I notice it no longer works. It just says "Finding Server" for ages, and eventually says "Server not found".
I tried re-adding the account, to no avail. As a test, I entered the IP address of the server, and got an authentication error indicating that the phone is capable of connecting to the server.
Anyone else suddenly having problems with gmail?
Any ideas what the problem may be?
The fact that using pop.gmail.com can't find the server and entering the IP address can indicates to me that it may be a DNS problem, is there a DNS cache on the phone, anyway of clearing that cache?

It seems to have magically started working again. The only thing I did was to switch to a different data account, and then switch back again, and it seems happy. Weird.
I'd still be interested to hear from some of you more experienced folk as to what may have been the issue. I'm going on holiday on Saturday and was hoping to blog the experience from the phone. If I have more ongoing problems with it, I'd be gutted! |
