Top 5 bluetooth headsets for K700 |

Hi there. I want a nice headset that is fully compatible with the K700. I like the recent SE HBH 608. Is there anything smaller that doesn't look tacky and is also under $100 USD? What do you recommend? Your personal experience with one would be nice too.

Hi the HBH-608 is not that big a headset - and is my current favorite for my K700i. It has good battery life and is pencil thin. The version 1.2 bluetooth stack also gives some good connect times.
I have had a few headsets and none of them are perfect.
HBH-200 - The first to have a caller display screen and still has some features that are yet to appear in other headsets with screens (call list view, redial from call list). Obviously a different design to most - but some people prefer the more discreet approach. But battery life is a big let down.
HBH-600 - Cheap relatively small headset. But looks a little bit tacky compared to some. Battery life reasonable - but not really up to todays standards.
HBH-300 - This boom headset offers the best performance for the people you are talking to. The boom puts the microphone near your mouth, but makes it a large headset that is not suitable for carrying in your pocket. Comes with a cradle for car use, but personally I found that the loop did not give a very tight fit on my ear - meaning that the volume was a little weak when driving at speed. But this is one of the easiest headests to put on when driving (the loose loop makes it less fiddly). Excellent battery life.
HBH-660 - Good battery and nice looking phone. Has caller display, which is handy for an easy view of the battery status and for seeing who is calling you. But the display lacks some of the features of the HBH-200. I have never had one, but the 662 would be a better bet because it is bluetooth 1.2 and not 1.1
HBH-608 - My current favorite - great battery, small profile, good volume and v1.2 bluetooth.
HBH-610 - I have one of these on back order and can't wait to test out some of the new features like - auto volume control, dsp and echo cancellation. These features have a big hit on battery performance when compared to the 608 though.
Jabra 250v - Unique design which is quite difficult to put on and the buttons are behind your ear and hence a little more challenging. I find in general with Jabra headsets that their range is not as good as SE and you do get the odd drop out. The design of the headset puts the sound straight into your ear drum and hence offers great volume (just like the HBH-200). The headset has to be charged in a cradle which is a bit of a pain when you want to charge in a car and at work. Also has a vibrate function.
Jabra BT800 - v1.2 headset with caller display and recent calls functions. Good battery life - but fairly big and the styling is quite radical. Shares the same problems as the 250v with regard to range. I currently use this headset with my second mobile. It also has auto volume control and dsp.
My advice is get a HBH-608 and also use the Sony Ericsson update service to get your K700i on the latest firmware - mine is on R2AY004 |

I agree about the Jabra sets being a bit tacky.
Am using Akono 660 & indeed think batt. life is good.
Yes ! I still cannt comfortably put the loop round my ear. But I anyway use the neckstrap, to see the caller details.
Think for SE fones, taking a SE set ought to give giod perf.

I've been mucking about with various headsets over the past couple of years, both bluetooth and hardwired. I seem to have odd shaped ears and can't find anything to fit. The Jabra I like the design of, but there's no way the eargel will stay in my ear so I can only use it in absolutely silent places. But I finally settled with a relatively cheap and little known headset, the Epox HS02. It is an over the ear type which has just the right shape hook for my giant flaps, and it's volume control goes up so far I dont have to be wearing it to hear it! |

I got for free one , from Vodafone with my mobile ,one HBH 602 , looks good and sound quality is superb , only 12 meters range .
The best part is that it comes with a charger that works also for the phone it self , so now i have two chargers

I use Motorola HS-810 (BT v1.1) with foldable mic.
I have tried a lot of headsets and this one came out the best in its own class, by far. On the beach, I managed to extend its range to 15 meters. Clarity in voice is pinpoint, and no interference when you have phone in your pocket or elsewhere...
If there is anything better, I'll go for it ! I read that SE headsets (at least some) were unusable in a car. Some had a poor voice + earpiece quality.
How about newer models ? Are they really that good ? I now have a k750 (BT v2.0), which Headset should be the best to use with it ?

I have used 2  Bluetooth headsets so far.
The first one - HBH-10 i believe was okay, used it with T68
Then i bought HBH-65 which is not very good. I used it with T68 and T630. If i drive people i call complain about lot of background noise especially when i drive on pavement roads. Also battery life is very short.
Now i use wired HPM-20 headset which was included with my K700i. It is very good, but i don't like to put things into my ears, kinda discomfortable.
I am looking to buy some next model Bluetooth headsets from preferably with noise cancellation. I was aiming at HBH-300 but then i decided to wait until next generation which is announced this fall.
