Photo call display on K700? |

My cell plan is up and I've decided to switch to Sony Ericsson. As I've never owned a camera phone, or a non-flip phone, I'm not really sure about this.
My friend has a flip camera phone that, when someone calls, displays the picture of their face that she took using the phone's camera.
I'm looking at getting the K700 (since it's a bit more reasonably priced than some of the newer models) and I was wondering, since it's not a flip phone, does it have this feature as well? I think it's pretty cool to be able to see your friend's face when they're calling you-but I don't know if this is a feature on ALL camera phones or just specific ones.
Thanks in advance for your help. |

I would go for the k750, but where I live I can get the k700 for about $300CDN and the k750 is about $500CDN, which is discounted about $170 each because the place has a deal if you sign up for this certain company. My parents said they would only put $150 towards a phone, and I have alot of other expenses coming up soon. I would LIKE to get it, but I just don't think I can afford it.

Yes, k750i supports pictures for both incoming calls and text. You do need to make the setting in the menu though, otherwise, new SMS messages will just come through as an event only.

My K700 does showing contact picture for both incoming call and text message.
My W800 does have that feature also and I believe the K750 does have the same feature.

The Orange branded K700i does not show a picture for text alerts...Orange have changed the desktop and this effects the way you are notified about an SMS/MMS.
It should be noted as well that all K700i's have a bug that means that sometimes a caller ID (picture and/or name) will not be displayed correctly. There is a work round for this but is not 100% accurate.
The Orange branded K750i has not had the desktop modified and displays picture for calls and texts no problems if you desire.
The software fault has also been corrected and IME the caller ID and phone log are always correct and accurate. |

Don't forget - not only can you assign pictures to your friends but different ringtones as well, including MP3's

so it does! You lil' beauty! I was confused initially because in the great bluetooth adress book transferring fiasco of this morning, i seem to have copied my k700 phonebook to my k750 several times over, and in those circumstances you don't get a caller id photo.
@afov
thanks explains a lot.
I'm well chuffed that I've finally got pictures back for texts - thanks guys!
