Ok here's my story; after three weeks of waiting for this damn phone from O2 I was really excited in getting it. Got home and it was there sitting on the desk. First impression nice has cable standard kit, phone felt light (good thing), has a mem card adapter thingy. Desperately wanting to play with it charged it for only 4 hours. (didnt get bluetooth handsfree either prolly on upgrade, determine to think phone had best to offer...how wrong was I)
Was really not impressed, first rant there's a stupid popup telling me hold back button to go back to standby...do I really need the phone to tell me that? The themes are poor compared to the K700, don't seem to see much new features compared to my k700 except the camera which comes onto my second rant..what the hell is wrong with the camera and the blue horizontal lines?? It's sooooo bad and gonna hard to clear even with photoshop? (and no not low light just not in daylight) I seen really nice pics taking with this phone on the pic thread...but i also noticed that I'm not the only person with this horizontal line problem is it the f/w again they are even worse in video recording modde >.<...very unimpressed by the hype on this phone and SE in general now.
Maybe if i had the T610 and not nokia before the K700 I wouldn't have felt so impressed by the K700 aswell? Nokia seem simplier to use and higher build quality but thats just my opinion (before crazed SE fans shout at me XD) they just are...well....as the name goes blocks lol
So then I didn't believe my eyes and thought maybe its just the display on the phone and might look nicer on full screen on pc...strangest thing unlike the ease of transfer with my k700, the bluetooth application i use says unable or not allowed access to the phone memory i guess cos of security reasons, but there's a passcode!
So imho K700 is better than this predecessor and if you want a camera go get a decent digital camera >.< (unless all you so dedicated folks here at esato can convince me to like this phone, I know its only the first day and def open to C+Cs)
Ps. hope i havent angered anyone on here...I honestly really like SE, up to today >.< |

I got a W800i today and have to oposite opinion to you.
The camera is amazing and doesnt have any bue lines. You shouldnt have any blue lines on your pictures, I would get the phone returned because of it.

@honus_700:
"...there's a stupid popup telling me hold back button to go back to standby..."
==> It's only a startup wizard that also available in previous SE phones since K700. It's only appear when you first inserted your SIM Card and turn the phone on, and it's not bothering me and I believe not to most of SE phones' users either.
"...The themes are poor compared to the K700..."
==> You may change the themes to your favorite either created it by yourself or downloaded from so many sites, do a search. It's not a big deal I guess.
"...what the hell is wrong with the camera and the blue horizontal lines??"
==> I don't get any clue about this as my W800 camera (everyone would agree that W800 camera is similar to that of K750) don't get me that blue horizontal line.
I suggest you to go to SE service center for the possibility to change your K750 with the new one.

What are you talking about??? That pop up comes on the K700i for the first time you press the back key a few times to help you to get used to the phone, you must have missed that! The themes are far better on the K750, maybe the default ones aren't very good but who cares, download new and better ones! There are not that many new features as it is supposed to be the successor of the K700i anyway. But i'll list them anyway,
1. Comes with sync cable,
2. Upgrade from .3MP up to 2.0MP Camera
3. MS Duo Card/Slot included
4. 262K screen as opposed to the crappy 65k one
5. Upgraded 3D graphics for gaming
6. Advanced Media Player
7. Fast Port for quick transfer to and from PC
8. TLS/SSL Encryption on email so you cand send and receive mail from secure sites like gmail.
I'm sure there are more but thats all I can think of this early in the morning. Anyone else got any great features to add to my list to show why this phone is so much better than the K700i?

not to mention the bluetooth password is a standard bluetooth security issue, that has nothing to do with the phone as such.
You allways need to specify a password atleast the first time you pair 2 bluetooth devices with eachother, the password can be anything you like as long as you enter the same password on the computer and the phone. You also need to do this when pariring a k700 with the computer or any nokia with the computer.
PS: the problems with cameraquality you mention sounds like a hardwarefault and would require service or replacement.

Hey sorry, I think it is a hardware problem with the phone...cos has the same lines in broad daylight.
The passcode i know...what i meant is that after entering and pairing the device it won't let me just the "browse" phone method (pairs up without difficulty better than k700 i think, which is good)
Heh true about downloading new themes, i'll look into it after getting a replacement from o2, god it's gonna take weeks?? I go back to uni next week and I don't wanna take to carphonewarehouse cos their firmware disables the ability to turn off the camera sound XD |

The browse function has been removed from the K750. I'm not entirely sure why they did this, as imo it was a great feature to use. |

Really? Oh...no wonder. I didn't have time to play with the software does that let you browse the phone memory? Or is it all just memory stick duo browsing?
Sent it off today, emailed them and they said it'll take 5 -7 days...more waiting >.< |

Included with the software on the disc is the sony ericsson file manager, that lets you access the internal memory of the phone. Thing you need to remember with the sony ericsson file manager is that you cant open files directly from the phone memory, you will need to copy and paste them into your pc first.
Browsing the memory stick is as easy as looking for a Removable Disk in My Computer.
