Does it charge with the phone switched off?

I have an ancient 3210 with a similar problem - it displays 'not charging' when switched on, but switch it off and it does charge - although the battery indicator flashes rather than getting the battery bars scrolling.

Could be a software problem?

Hmmm...maybe the phone is not charging due to safety reasons? Defective charger or something? Anyway, that was a guess!

maybe the battery needs replacement! try borrowing another battery, put it in your 6630 then try to charge it. if it does charge then surely you'll need a battery replacement.

just a tip!

Battery of your phone is okay, the problem is with phone itself.

Do a Full phone formatting on your phone as steps below,

1. Make sure you have at least 3/4 charge of battery power left, charge it by putting in some other phone or arrange it from somewhere.

2. Backup your contacts list and personal files to MMC memory card.

3. Switch-off your phone.

4. Press and hold 3 keys; Green dial key, * Star key, no. 3 key on keypad and then press the power on/off to swtich on the phone.

Remember, do not let go the 3 press and hold keys until you see a formatting word screen show!

5. After a few minutes when the Full phone formatting completed, your phone will back to original system and factory settting.

What you can try and do

Is open the battery compartment take your battery out and replace it.

Sometimes the battery connections of the phone are not touching the battery connections the way it should.
