Heres the scenario.

Ive had this T610 from new and ive had it for 2 years this October. It was used for 1 year with an O2 contract (the phone was an O2 upgrade) and then when i upgraded again it was left for 6 months. After that it had an O2 pay as you go sim in it up until now.

I was using my contract in a Samsung E720 (O2 pay as you go phone) and when i inserted the pay as you go from the T610 i got the message insert sim. When i insert my contract into the T610, now it tells me insert sim!!!

What should i do?

Sounds a bit like a sim reader error.

Try cleaning the sim's contacts with a toothbrush, and if you have a T6 Torx screwdriver try gently tightening the bottom two screws (but be careful not to overtighten them!) then try again.

If that doesn't work then the reader could be buggered, or it's a software problem.

The strange thing is though that it can read the pay as you go sim?!?!?!

It can? Sorry, missed that bit! Try contacting your service provider and explaining the situation.

I've had my contract sim in a variety of phones from an old 3210 to my S700i without any problems recently!
