Hi all,

Sorry if these questions have already been posted before. I'm going nuts searching the forum, can't find the answers anywhere. So here goes.

1) How easy/difficult is it to switch MemoryStickDuo cards in the phone? I'd like it to be relatively easy to take the card out in order to copy data onto it. I don’t want to use a data cable.
2) What's with the video-recording kbps thing? My K700i only records in 64 kbps, sometimes even only 32 kbps, which is kinda disappointing. But I've seen videos recorded with K750/W800 done in 118 kbps...which is nice. But I’ve also seen some in 69 kbps. Is it possible to set this rate yourself, or.... what's going on? If you can set it yourself, how high can you set it? (It’s not like the W800i lacks memory).
3) I've heard that it's possible to play mp4 or 3gp files in full-screen, but in the few minutes I got to test it myself, I didn’t manage to do this. Is it a rumour (or were the clips I was playing simply too low resolution to fill the screen)?
4) Can you select where to save the pictures you take and videos you record? (memorystick or phone)
5) Can the media player also play (and play-lists include) MIDI files? The one in K700i can’t.

Thanks for your help.

I believe the latest firmware is R1L002.

As for recording video. The only options you get are 'Large 176x144' or 'Small 128x96'. There is also an option for if you wish to send the video over MMS, it will only record a video for 10 seconds so it can be sent. Otherwise you can record for aslong as you like, depending on your free memory.

To play a video in full screen, you have to play it through the Media Player and not from the file manager. Then you get an option in the More bit for 'Fullscreen'.

A couple of questions of my own:

1. Does the w800i really make a mechanical sound (low click-like sound within the phone) when its doing an auto-focus? My phone's in silent mode. Is it normal?

2. Is there a way to change the default camera shutter digital sound?

Thanks.

I add the answer that Mr. Sony Ericsson Indonesia gave it unclear...

To get the fullscreen of the video, you should play it in Media Player (by pressing Walkman button). I guess you can't get the full screen since you play it in File Manager.
Am I right?

Thanks for your replies.

Could some of you out there who owns an W800i, try looking closer at the video recordings you've made, and report what their kbps rate is? If you use the Platform 4 player by Phillips, this info is available when you click the "i" icon.

Thanks.

in answer to question 1, yes it does click mechanically, it's the lens auto-focus kicking in, if you watch the lens as you press he shutter button, it moves slightly to correct the focus.
