Hi all, check this out

I purchased a k750i to standard 3.5mm adaptor on e-bay, so i can use my koss porta pro headphones. Excellent sound.

I have been using it on and off for a few weeks, but today at work, i listened to a few tracks and pressed the music button to stop playback, but left the headset and phones pluged in, i normally unplug after i have finished.

About 1 hour 30 mins later, i picked up the phone again, and i noticed it was quite warm, strangley.

Then i noticed the battery meter was in the red, is was fully charged when i left, so this explaiins the heat, the battery was discharging somehow, almost the entire charge gone in just over an hour.

I also checked and it was not playing music, it was in standby. So what is going on here?

Weird!!!!!!

Im sorry your your post is stupid, and tells me nothing, there are only 3 wires on the connector, ground, left and right, so if the phones are being used while they should not it has nothing to do with the cable.

It has to be a phone problem, or every plug in headset would be the same would it not?

The previous poster's post was not stupid, he's only trying to help so please do not respond in such an a-social way.

But the warm phone, and the rapid discharge would suggest a short circuit somewhere. The likely culprit being the headset. Perhaps shoddy worksmanship in the connector (the wiring) or the prongs on the connector are bent out of alignment?

To avoid battery damage I would advise you not to use that connector piece again.

I think i found the problem, its not the headset, but does seem to be a strange phone prob.

Now normally, when i said i use the music button, to play and stop, this time i did, not, i was actually in the media player screen. Now if you keep the media player active, and pause, this is when the battery is discharged. So when you are pausing, instead of actually stopping, it keeps the amp running. So, i wont be doing that again!.

That might very well attribute to the problem, but still an empty batt. in one hour (while on pause) seems strange to me. Why don't you try it with the supplied headset (but it on pause like you did the first time) and see what it does.

CONFIRMED!

Even with the original headset, play a song through the media player, press pause, after a while, say 5-10 mins, the phone becomes warm around the connector and battery compartment, and the battery is being draind at a high rate.

DESIGN FAULT?, or FIRMWARE BUG??

Tried this with two of my K750i's, and both my W800i's.

None of them had any problem with overheating or battery draining quickly when pausing a track whilst any headset is plugged in. I tested all these devices over 30 minutes.

Just my two pennies worth...

There was a problem, and its been replaced, a soon as i have a full charge, i will test, one thing i noticed, is the sound is better on this unit, and there is no loud POP, when the amp kicks in and out.

If yours does it, get it replaced, ill let you know how i get on in a few hours with a play test.

Can anybody give an idea of expected mp3 playback time, like i say i was getting about 50-60 mins before, with alot of heat, and a dead battery.
