if you buy the w800i right now.. u can always flash it to a k750i. but a w800i is more expensive but comes with better headsets and u can plug in your own headphones...
if u buy a k750i. its cheaper.. and u can flash to a w800i when the red firmware comes out... the headset that comes iwth it .. u cant plug in your own.. soo...up to u!

As the phones are essentially the same it is up to you. Basically you are choosing your firmware (Better media player and Flight mode in the W800 but the rather useful Activity menu in the K750), the look of the phone and whether or not you want to change headphones. Of course, the 512MB of memory as opposed to 64MB is an issue for some, but it depends on the cost.
I personally have a K750 with a 1GB card, but if the price was right (i.e. less than the price of a K750 + 512MB card) than I would probably go for a W800. Some people were upset by the loss of the Activity menu, but I think it's not too great a loss personally. |

They are essentially the same phone. If the 512 meg card and the (significantly) better headphones is worth the extra price and you don't mind the look of a phone based on the styleings of a 25 year old walkman then go for the W800. Otherwise you won't regret getting the K750. |

@sylent - I agree with usual as regards the styling, etc... hardware wise w800i is a bit better, in the sense more memory and flight mode... depending upon how often you wud require that utility as also the fact taht buying the k750i plus 512MB memory card is cheaper than the price of the w800i....
however the colour combos really do make a difference... the bright white and orange of the w800i might not appeal to all...
in case no one has mentioned it before, the 2MP camera, are of the same quality in both phones as per se specs...
almost forgot, the w800i has some extra software as regards the radio functions and playing mp3 files, etc. goes... |

What are you on about?
Original Walkman #1 is aluminium anodised blue with a stripe of silver.
Blobby "Walkman" logo is from recent years.
Its as retro as a BMW Mini Cooper
(imho K750i looks better sitting next to the PSP)

What is that all about???
Just because the Walkman brand has been here for so long that doesn't necessarily means that is 'out'.
If that was true maybe women should stop wearing and buying CARTIER jewels for that company was founded more than a century ago. Classics just get better with time.
The W800 is really cool, if I didnt have already a K750 I would definitely go for it, now I think it's kind of annoying having to upgrade the memory stick and the headphones. The activity menu is not such a big deal.
Go for the W800!!

Just depends if you want a more music biased phone, the fact the headphones no the W800 are better and you get more memory would be appealing if the price is good.

I missed the activity button when I had the W800 and never used the flight mode capability
basically its a place where you can find any missed calls, unread text messages, alarms that have not been ackowledged etc. Also there are shortcuts and finally a tab with your bookmarks
here is what it says in the manual
