Just was on GSM area reviewing some stuff and saw these??

http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone2=1264&idPhone1=1262

What's the deal??? thought HTC was producing the 1 phone for all the networks!

thing is I dont think there the same as there is a tiny Dimension difference and the processor are made in different countries maybe!!!
(Intel Bulverde 520 MHz processor)
(Intel XScale 520Mhz 520 MHz processor)

hmmmm something's going on

Not sure way they chose to use two different names for the same 520Mhz processors, politics i guess.

yes, they are the same. HTC make the base model and various brands buy them and rebadge them. Same happened with the JAM and other earlier models too

i hear ya! but if they do that - why have different names before they have sold them off - i.e Qtek 9000 & i-mate JASJAR - thought the network named them!!!!

qtek and i-mate are unbranded versions. o2, orange and t-mobile give them their own names

orange are calling it the SPV M5000, t-mobile are calling it the MDA IV and o2 are calling it the XDA exec

yeah I saw the different sizes in the link you gave but its probably just incorrect reporting. it is possible for some HTC models to be tri band and some to be quad band but I've not heard of any having different sizes

If all these devices are the same, why the price difference.

i-mate JASJAR
http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=119353
£669.95 (570.17 exc.)

Qtek 9000
http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=125550
£629.95 (536.13 exc.)

I`ve looked over the spec and can`t really spot the difference.

I`m with T-Mobile in the UK and they`ve rebanded their model as "T-Mobile MDA Pro".

The problem is that T-Mobile have choosen to go for a cheap looking silver plastic case. Instead of the handsome black like iMate, Qtek or O2.

I can`t really see any difference in the spec but the price for the offline model can vary as much as £50.

Can anyone spot the difference other than price?
