K750i Video Settings |

When i take a video clip with my K750i the file is saved as a 3gp, and the quality is pretty poor.
My friends Samsung saves the video files as a MP4 file, and the quality is much better.
Is there a way to change the settings on the Sony Ericsson K750i so the videos are saved as an MP4 file and not A 3gp file?
Thanks in advance. |

I think the reason is the *standard* format for phone videos is 3gp, and all video-phones can play these. Samsung mp4 files are better quality but not all phones can play those files. Correct me if I'm wrong. |

That is correct.
S//E phones record in .3gp to keep compatibility with standard so all 3gp enabled phones can play them.
That however has nothing to do with the qualitydifference of samsung and S//E recordings
both records video in mpeg4 even if samsung use the .mp4 container and S//E use the .3gp container.
The qualitydifference between samsung and S//E recordings is caused by different resolutions and different bitrates. Samsung recording in higher resolutions and bitrates while S//E keep to the standardized .3gp resolution and bitrates, again to make sure other .3gp enabled phones can play them.
