Just wondering, im thinking of investing in a dongle or other device to connect up my t68i to my PC, at the mo i already (not very sucessfully) link up my laptop that has IR.

I was wondering whats the best link method in ur opinion? Also can you point out some good suppliers of hardware? Ive tried looking for a USB Bluetooth dongle for a while and ive not found many, ones i have found ive been quoted in excess of £100 for!!!

Bluetooth will be better. At the moment it's "new technology".
However there are more than 10 Bluetooth USB adapters out now.

Look at the "msi usb bluetooth key (MS-6967)" thread.
Someone there wrote a post, that he found that adapter in UK for £42 (I think). It must have been on page 12,13 or 14.

IR should work fine.

One caveat: At the moment, most Bluetooth adapters wont receive files from the T68i, other than phonebook and calender files.

Transmitting files to the T68i is not a problem.

However notice that both IR and BT (and USB cables) emulates a serial cable, and all the Ericsson software right now uses the connection as a serial cable.

IR works great here, I must say you should keep the phone close and pointed to the IR when communicating, but if you do that, it works great !

Now ive just recently worked out how to send and recivice files from my t68i via IR without that annoying EPM software (never bloody works!) and good old Windows 98 IR send and recv

Guess its a good temporary mesure until Bluetooth on XP is a tad more tried and tested.

I'm currently facing some problems with IR.

I can receive gifs in the phone, but syncronization through XTND only works when it is in the mood.

Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. What I noticed is that the cellphone drops the connection as if the sync has finished, but it has not.

Configured the IR to 9600 bps.

Any other tricks ?
