O2 cannot replace 'obsolete' S700i.Help |

Hi I have a S70i on O2 and have paid for there gold insurance for around 7 or 8 months now. Now I come to claim as I have damaged the phone, they have told me that the Sony Ericsson S700i is no longer stocked due to reliability problems. This is not good news as the only phones they can offer me through their insurance scheme is the K700, some rubbish Samsungs and a nokia 7710.
This is really annoying as if I wanted any of these phones, I would have bought them in the first place. I want another S700i or if not a K750i. They will not supply me with the K750i as they say it would be an upgrade. This is fair enough as people would just do it to get a new phone, but am I being unreasonable demanding the same replacement mobile as I bought originally?
Please help with any suggestions as to what I can do.
Once again O2 have pissed me off. They started out by being excellent, I thought that theye were different and they've proved to me that they are no different to Voda-crap!!!! |

Maybe you could explain to them that the phones they are offering do not have (insert vital feature here) but the S700 does. Tell them you need to have said feature and that is the main reason you bought the S700 and you need it to doe business/school whatever.
It worked for me with one od the US carriers here.

Stick to your guns. If they cannot offer you the identical model to the one you have or an equivlent model to the same spec as the one you have. They should either pay you the market value of your phone or give you the phone thats replaced it in their line up.

Hi Eric's Son.
Why don't you get it replaced under Warranty. I take it the phone is less than 12 months old?
Unless you have invalidated the warranty this will be free of charge.
I sent mine away to be fixed and it was returned to me in about 10 days working perfectly but with older firmware.
What happened to it anyway?
