I also had problems initially while syncing my W800 with Outlook with the cable. The sync would start normally but would keep going on and on. After a while it would exit without any error msg...

I deleted all information (such as company, email etc.) from my Outlook contacts apart from just the names and phone numbers and now the sync works.

I have got a phonebook of about 200 entries, having port them from Psion, then to Palm, then to Pocket PC. When trying to port the phone book from Outlook to the W800, like most people, I faces lots of problems (having the sync MC error.....). After several items,
I manage to do it and this is what I discover.

1) All outlook calender appointments must not have alarms.
If have, must remove all of them. You can remove very
old records you can archive them from a certain date.
2) All notes can only be text. Remove all voice notes.
3) Contacts is the difficult one. Although I have restrict to the following fields: Name, Business (Address, City, State, Country, Street, Phone, Fax) Home Phone, email, website and Notes, it
still does not work.

Finally, I export the whole contact to excel, delete all the blank
columns and import them again and presto! it works. It seems that
during the migration stage from other PDAs, there are some
hidden characters in certain fields which I though is blank.

Hope the above works. Now my w800 works seemlessly with
Outlook, and for the 1st time, I can have a copy of
my favourite restuarants and suppliers addresses in
my handphone. I can even have their email, website etc.

I can also have a copy of my coming appontments
and in point form, my meeting agenda.

THe only thing lacking is appointments with alarms!

Something very nice to carry along when sometimes
even a PDA is too bulky

Okay, figured I could wake up this old thread instead of creating a new one.

Just got a W800 yesterday and my problems are:

Problem 1:

It doesn't sync birthdays! I have the birthdays in the Outlook Contacts but it doesn't add them to the contacts in my phone when I sync.

Problem 2:

For autogenerated birthday reminders and anniversary reminders that I have in the Outlook Calender I can not specify for how many days ahead I want it to sync with the phone.

Apparently they don't count as normal appointments.

So instead it tries to sync all the birthday reminders and anniversary reminders I have in the Outlook Calender which is about 1000 (about 50 appointments per year for about 20 years!) and then of course the calender in the phone runs out of memory...

Has anyone experienced similar problems? Would be very grateful for anything that could help me solve the problem.

Cheers

Andreas
