Hello
I will be buying a new fone this week end and I decided to ask you guys your opinion about the fones I am considering
S700i - is the cam on this one far different from that of a K750i? And can this play converted movie files? is this really as big as others say?
K 750i - what can you say about its camera and speed?
lastly Nokia 6630 - is the cam on this one really an upgrade from my previous 7610?
** what is important to me
Camera
and can play movies and MP3s

Hi there!
Firstly, i think the s700 has become outdated of sorts since the K750 launch..
I'd only recommend it over the K750 because of its larger screen and and unique form factor... Also remember that the S7 supports memory stick duos only..not pro duos.
The K750 is an excellent device..the highlight being its 2mp cam. its much better an option than the s7
Coming to thr 6630, its a good phone too...has a 1.3 mp cam and more importantly, is a smartphone which boasts of much better multitasking capability..but then,, i'd recommend the 6680 to the 6630 which imho is a better phone1
Hope this helps...

Hmmm... Memory stick duos are limited to 128 mb only..i.e, the s7 cannot take a 256mb memory card, if the need arises because it supports memory stick duo which are limited to 128mb! Pro duo on the other hand is currently available with capacities of up to 2gb!

Also if you have EDGE in your country, the 6630 is a better option. The bottomline is: it depends on what you need from your phone? If you are keen on smartphone features, namely internet browsing, chatting, filetransfer, multitasking etc, the 6630 is better. But when it comes to camera and imaging capabilities, the K750 is the clear winner..anyway these two phones cannot be directly compared as they are made for different purposes. The only common feature is that both can make calls!

Since cam ,mp3 and video is your main concern,id suggest k750.

i have the s700
have used the 6630 as well.
Recommend the K750, cos its better than the s700, its got all the bug fixes that are needed for the s700, like full screeen video, pause/rewind etc.
6630 is good, start up time is crap, but you can do loads with it, but i prefer sony cos they can do style better!

Don't ask why but I have owned all these phones in the last 3 months!
IMO the best handset as a phone is the K750i...here's why
Nokia 6630
Very nice Symbian phone which was, in my experience, very reliable and very speady. Some very minor bugs on later firmware but nothing too bad. Avoid on Vodafone as is 'locked' onto 3G (you can get an app to sort though). PIM applications very poor for a smartphone and saved by the ability to download apps such as Papyrus etc. Very very well built and solid. Quite a chunky phone but does fit into the hand very well. 1.3 MP camera but a tad disappointing IMO...always find Nokia cameras to have washed out colours and this one no exception. Picture look o.k on that nice big screen but nothing more...also has a strange habit of showing fuzzy picture unless you view them in the gallery. If you decide to go for this handset you can't go wrong really but make sure you get the latest firmware. Make sure you can live with the size and shape as well, this is what got me in the end!
SE S700i
Wow......a lovely phone that is very very well built and oozes quality. A superb screen that is only bettered by the Sharp's. Whilst I had this phone I used the camera all the while as is so easy to use and provides such good results. Any pictures you take also display really well on the superb screen. This phone is thick and the screen is open to the elements and could mark easily. The swivel nature of the phone is also a love or hate thing....alot of work can be done when the phone is closed but anything requiring text input means you have to open the phone. Sound quality etc very nice and MP3 supported (as on all 3 phones). Problems...on all firmwares, the phonebook and call list is screwed. This results in incorrect information in caller logs and the occasional refusal of the phone to display caller ID or photo. This can be rectified but if you forget to add a new contact in the correct way you will be back to square one....this got annoying quickly. Another issue is that the SE UI is very slow and laggy and struggles to keep up with your input alot of the time. If you get this phone avoid Vodafone and you should be happy...as with the 6630 though make sure you are happy with the handsets size and unique form.
SE K750i
My current phone. Coming to this phone from a handset such as the S700i or 6630 you cannot help but be disappointed in the smaller sized screen. What you need to remember is that this is a phone/music/multimedia device crammed into a small, traditional candy bar design. I have the latest firmware on an Orange branded handset and all the bugs from the K/S 700 seem to have been sorted....a snappy UI and im my experience a joy to use. The camera is excellent and provides some really nice results...the pictures do not display as nice as those on the S700i screen but then the phone is alot more compact. I really like the ability to modify SMS tones and also like the ability to quickly and easily make playlists on the music player. The 750i is alot more flexible than the S700i as you are able to use Memory sticks up to 2GB. I currently use a 512 and have had no problems. The build quality of the phone is not excellent but is, IMO, better than the K700. I have no had any specific problems but the handset just feels a tad 'pliable'....in a way though I feel that this gives your phone a bit of character. A good phone...if not probably the best all rounder on the market within it's class and price range. I can see me keeping mine for a good while.
In conclusion, if you want a smartphone that you can modify and add stuff to, the 6630 is a nice bit of kit. If you are after a more traditional phone I would put the K750i above the S700i due to it's more compact size and better usuability. Both phones are really nice but when you have used both the 750 just feels like it has progressed from the S700i.
Hope you are happy with whatever phone you get. Hope this has helped. |

Its obvious that the K750 is more suited for your needs...if i were you, i'd go for a 6680 as it suits my needs! Go for the K750 pal!
