AFAIK, the R600 does not support GPRS on cable connected to a PC. Its GPRS is "internal" only to its wap browser. I'd love to be wrong!

I've never done this myself. The following is translated (by me) from swedish, I can not assure you it'll work. Try at own risk.

-Choose modem in Control Panel
-Choose Add
-Install other (not PCMCIA card), press next
-Mark "don't let Windows choose modem.." and press next
-Choose Standarad modem as manufactor and then standard 14400 kbps and press next
-Choose to install on a serial COM-port and press next
-Press Finish

The expansys website offers the r600 with a data cable accessory. I would take that as an indicator of its modem function. Of course its only an assumption. I'll try it myself when i get the chance.

@gowin, yup, we have to try it. because the sony ericsson support site does not list it being compatible with drs-10 or drs-11. and there is no sony ericsson software available for the R600 (this model is outsourced by sony ericsson).

This French webpage mentioned that the R600 has an "integrated modem", here's the English translation of the webpage.

I still haven't tried it personally but I guess the indicators are pointing to that direction.

Hi all

there is a built-in GPRS modem in the phone. In Hungary there is a Vodafone bundle package for Internet by cable. On the "Connect me" CD there is an EriR600.inf file for setting up modem manually. If anybody needs it just send a mail for me to this account ( vjanos@westel900.net ) and I will reply with the file.

Regards

also have a R600!
I'm think of doing the same thing and I am wondering if it really works or not?

Anyone tried it? If so, can you post out your config of the phone and PC here?
Thnks in advance!

It should be quite similar to the rest of the other phones. Search the other threads especially those in the connectivity forum (Wap, gprs, email)
