help with calendar on k750i |

SOrry people, this is a cross posting from http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=101646.
i am also posting it here as this may be a technical question rather than a "tips & tricks". i am amazed that a feature packed advanced device such as the k750i did not offer an option to change/ kill the sound of the reminders.
here is the problem again:
i need a way for the reminders in my calendar (k750i) to work SILENTLY. That may sound odd, but it is very important, as i am synchronizing my outlook calendar and i have birtdyas there registered as all day events, which means they commence at midnight, you will agree not the best time for a loud reminder. this gets even more serious with my regular travel over many timezones, which leads to loud scary reminders at all kind of strange hours. for now i have completely disabled the reminders which led to a mildly serious failure to remember a birthday and the precise time of a doctor appointment the other day.
Are silent reminders possible on this phone? Alternatively, is it possible at least to customize the ringtone of these reminders, maybe replacing it with a very dscreet click?
thanks y'all,
s

You can keep the phone in the silent mode when you don't want the alerts to ring (ie at night time etc)
Phones: Ericsson 3618 > Nokia 2100 (thrashed) > Samsung C100 (sold2my best pal) > Samsung X600 (lost) > SE T630 > SE K700 (given to cousin)> SE K750 > SE W800 |

naah. not an option. that would prevent me from waking up in the mornings, which is something i really need to do (yes, i am using the alarm from the phone to wake up, and please don't suggest i get an alarm clock).

When in silent mode the alarm still works, it also works with the phone switched off.

that may be but it still isn't a solution.
is there no other way to customize the sound of reminders? |

I must say I am a bit dissapointed with the reminders aswell as it is missing 1 very important option.
In the reminders menu you get 3 options:
- Always - The reminder will always appear on screen whether the phone is on/off, but will only beep if not in silent mode.
- Never - Speaks for itself, you won't get any reminder atall and will have to just look at the calendar every day
- If phone is on - also speaks for itself, will only issue a reminder if the phone is on (will only beep if not in silent mode). But this option is missing 1 vital thing! Cause if you have this mode selected and your phone is off, you will miss the reminders completly, even if its someones birthday! What they need is the option to then bring up the reminders which you missed when the phone is next turned on. That would make a lot of sense.
Please SE!
Cheers

I too find this very annoying. The default calendar reminder sound is highly irritating. Surely it mus be possible to change this reminder sound like you can change the ringtones? |

You can easily switch of the notification sound within the outlook calendar, per item (reminder checked or unchecked); and that way you can choose which alarm is to important to be missed and which is not.
You cannot however change the type of reminder sound. Now THAT is anoying! |
