Here is the test clip for K700 (Tested on my K700)

Vibrators XviD (2.64MB)
http://s35.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0P9NMKOT3LY3621EI8UNRJY3KW

Please note that it is 3min clip so the bitrate is only 122kbps but the quality is really good. It is better than any other codec except for Nero-Digital AVC (H.264).

I encode the video using XviD Simple Profile Level 3 (@ 96kbps target bitrate) and encode audio using Apple Quicktime 7 (mono AAC-LC @ 32kbps)

The clip is an award-winning TV ad from France. (Cannes Lion 2005 Gold medal)

The source of this clip is 17MB Quicktime Clip from Cannes Lion 2005 website.

And here is the H.264 (Nero Digital AVC @ 96kbps) version.

Since it is H.264 clip, so it will not play on K700 but SHOULD play in K750 and W800 (I did not test it coz I don't have K750 or W800)

K750 or W800 users please test it.

Please note that you can play this clip on PC using Quicktime 7 (older version won't play H.264) or VideoLAN Client 0.82+ or in any directshow player with recent ffdshow installed.

The H264 version doesn't play on my K750. It transfers ok, but the phone thinks its just an audio file and asks to stick it in "Sounds" - I can then play it back from there but only the audio.

Any ideas?

I don't know. H.264 might simply does not work or their are something wrong with my method.

I will try to encode again using only Nero Recode without using Quicktime AAC and leave it it mp4 container.

Ive done extensive testing with both Xvid and Nero digital (as well as Quicktime, Mpegable, Pvauthor and others), and allways come to the conclusion that Nero digital is best.
Zoom 200-400% during playback and youl see less compressionartifacts from Nero digital than from Xvid or any other encoder.

AVC H.264 is unfortunately not supported on K750

So H.264 is not supported on K750 and W800?!?
I thought it was in the specs.

BTW, in my opinion, for MPEG-4 Simple Profile and Advanced Simple Profile XviD is the best codec quality wise. But Nero Digital is a bit faster.

I also use Apple's AAC encoder (Quicktime) for encode the audio because it handle ultra low bitrate better then Nero Digital. (AAC-LC not AAC-HE)

H.264 spec is finalize about one and a half year ago.

Apple and Ahead already included it in their mainstream products. (Quicktime 7, Nero Recode)

And it is the part of next generation DVD (HD-DVD and Blu-Ray)
