Realy anoying problem with K750 and PC. |

Hey there..
for some reason my PC resets itself when ever i disconect my USB cable from my phone..
all im doing is putting MP3's onto my memorystick...
once im done.. i pull out the plug from the phone and it resets my pc!!!
even if remove the harware safley and then pull the plug it still resets!
does any of you know what this issue is???
i have 2 harddisks 1 partitioned into a few drives...and the other not
the k750 apears as drive J (removeable disk)
xppro...
it only started doing this resently.. it never did it before!! |

some konfiguration problems on your computer most likely
You might need to uninstall and reinstall the usb drivers for your phone
You might also try removing the cable from the phone first before removing the usb cable from the computer, if you dont allready.
Also try checking if the removable device is optimised for speed or for safety. When attached goto properties for the removable device (J) and check, if optimised for speed, try setting it to optimised for safety.

you could also try uninstalling the usb port drivers.
I have also seen usb ports fried from power short (if someone tries to force a device into the port the wrong way for example). In such a case try the back onboard ports (if you use the front connector normally) or try the front ports if you use the back normally. |

Ok this is a joke now...
i tryed everything you said... clean registry re installed uninstalled ect...
finaly i formated my darn PC....!!
HORARRR!! IT WORKED!!!! Awsome.. so there i was unplugging and plugging in the usb cable.. everything worked fine...
then after i finished puting about 100 tracks on the phone i unplugged it.. and.... guess what.......
u guessing???
i dont think i need to tell you eh.........
no it didnt make me a cuppa tea...
IT RESET MY PC AGAIN!!!
What the hell is this?????

try using a powered usb hub, there may be a problem with the usb power rail.
Also, unlikely as it sounds, it may be the cable, especially if you don't have problems with other usb devices. Or, the phone!
The first thing to do is make sure it's specific to the phone and it's cable. If you only get problems with that combo, then try and borrow another cable and see if it still happens. Then try another phone if you can.
Try and get a process of elimination to root down into the cause. If you get problems with all sorts of usb devices (not just the phone and cable) then you have a hardware fault in the motherboard. Make sure you test ALL the usb ports. I've often found one or two will be dodgy but others will be okay.
It's painful to go through it all, but it's all part of the elimination process. |

Does it happen with other USB-devices like USB-memory or USB-HDDs?
Is it the same problem om ALL your USB-ports?
Are your USB-ports on your motherboard?

I'm guessing the contacts are messed up on your PC ... I had a similar problem, except I had it with my Network cable. Once I Plugged in my network cable the PC was turning on or turning off ... so I checked the wires and one of the wires was nekkid and kept touching the network card which caused the whole problem. So eather you, or take it to the experts and check the wiring of your PC.
Oh just to cheer u up I had a problem in my car as well ... once I used to hit the brakes my windshields would start, and hte car didn't care whether it was raining or not, pissed me off real quick ... It was a mystery for me for quite some time but then I found when I would press the brak pedal the pedal (which is made of steel) would touch the wire that is for the windshields and it would cause (not sure what's it called in english but I assume the word is) shore (or short, what ever) so I had to fix the wire in order for it to stop. |

hey guys, just an update..
well none of the other devices are reseting my pc.. i have a memory stick.. mp3 player and a camera... i can hot plug them in and out all day!.. the computer is quite happy.. i have 4 usb ports... 2 are on the mobo and 2 have there own connectors on the mobo...
also i have tryed plugging the k750 in and out of my other pc.. and it works fine.. i did it about 20 times... each time it loads up the memory stick just fine...
so im realy not sure now what it is now..
im thinking the configuation of my drives???
ps this is only 2 hard disks .. with partitions.. LOL
