W800 meets Mac - synching problems, suggestions |

I'm really impressed with the new W800i - worked straight out of the box with the latest version of Mac OS X, synching addresses and such via Bluetooth.
But there are problems. First off, taking the USB cable out crashes the mac (fortunately that's been solved over here.)
Now I'm trying to work on a script to give iPod shuffle functionality to the W800. At the moment it's really bare bones stuff - it looks at your party shuffle in iTunes, then creates all the relevant folders on your W800 so it knows the names of artists and albums, then copies the files across.
You can find more on my blog.
I'd welcome any help and or comments. |

I just got my w800i and it works like a dream! It's a Sony Walkman, Sony Digicam, and Ericsson phone in one! But it has its share of minor glitches, just a little bug or 2. I've transferred some mp3 and m4a music files to it via usb from my iTunes. Works fine. Except that it seems to duplicate m4a files, but the duplicate is unplayable and cannot be deleted. And the name of the song that registers in the walkman tracks and playlists includes the .m4a file extension. So the song "Clocks" reads "Clocks.m4a" and the unplaybale duplicate, "._Clocks.m4a". There's no problem during play mode though. The plain song name is displayed and the walkman ignores the unplayable duplicates as it goes through a playlist. Is there a fix for this minor irritation? i use a Mac by the way. |

Guys there are a few Mac threads here that answer pretty much all of your questions. If you use the search function you would be there by now. The reason I know that there is a Mac thread is because myself and another guy post there almost daily. There three main ones so you can not miss them. Good luck.

w800iam: These ._ files are what the Mac OS leaves on the MS, they're used by the Mac OS and are useless on the phone. Check out the 'Mac Stuff' section of my site (see sig) for utilities to get rid of them... or as mentioned check out the specific Mac threads here on Esato.
