Switching from P910 to dumb phone? |

Yo,
I'm getting tired of my P910 now and need an "upgrade", though there aren't really any more competent phones out there. I have noticed however that ordinary phones like the k750i are getting more and more competent and that Java apps are developing quickly.
In addition, the P series hasn't received a worthy upgrade since its first phone came out, still going with a sluggish processor, poor screen resolution, a bad camera and ugly operating system. This, plus the size and complicated nature of my P910, has led me to wonder if I could put up with an ordinary "stupid" phone instead of a smartphone.
As such, I'd like to know how chatting on MSN and IRC is done on e.g. a k750. I know it's Java and I usually don't like it. How much progress has been made in this area? When I first started out with Java apps on my T610 two years ago, the experience was bad. Really bad.
Also, how's the calendar and other PIM functionality of today's ordinary phones?
And can any of them do some basic multi-tasking, like keep an IM running whilst receiving a phone call or browsing a WAP site?
Basically, what I'm asking is what an ordinary phone of today is capable of, and if any of you guys have done what I'm about to do. I'm afraid a "dumb phone" can be too simple.

In comparison to recent SE phones, it is all of those things. Just look at the cute animations in the menus of a k750. That's a minor issue though.
