RFID in Japan

Now this is really good. It’s a lightbulb that alerts you via SMS when it burns out. A signal is engraved in a contact part of the bulb. When it dies, it sends you a message. How? This is the great part.

It shoots an SMS via the electric wires of your home, to the Internet, then to your phone, telling you to "Buy a new lightbulb on the way home".

This calls for a drawing of Asterix and Obelix tapping their heads and saying these Japanese are crazy. Why not just keep a spare light bulb at home?

But what if you were away on holiday or you have these fitted in your place of work or areas where you need light all the time but you don't visit often...i think this product has potential. [addsig]

They really don't know what else to come up with....
And don't light bulbs usually burn when you try to turn them on that last time... you know when you get that little 'spark'????
I think they over did it this time!
