Problem receiving texts from Canada on Virgin UK |

Hi. Hoping someone can help me out with a problem I've been having.
Couple weeks ago I bought the K750 from Virgin Mobile UK. I had no problems receiving texts from Canada while using the mobile number that first came with the phone. I transferred my Orange number to Virgin a week later and since then I haven't been able to receive any texts from Canada. Has anyone experienced a similar problem? I've contacted Virgin and they've told me it’s not a problem on this end.

maybe its a problem wit orange. Have a go at contacting them

Just an update... contacted Virgin UK and they've said the problem is not with them... my brother contacted his network (Virgin Mobile Canada) and they said the problem is not with them.
My brother was told that T-Mobile/VirginUK don't use the international text/sms platform (or something like that) which O2, Vodafone and Orange use (apparently because traffic between North America and UK doesn't justify using it). They said that might be the problem - that the texts are getting lost on the way but since Virgin UK dont use that platform they can't track down the problem.
Hopefully new SIM card helps. |
