Anyone else finding Super Real Tennis REALLY slow on an s700i? It's actually unplayable. I didn't really pay much attention until i realised how fast its supposed to be on a k750i.. is it "supposed" to be slow?

Also, it's really 'slow' when navigating the menus compared to k750i (or even that vodafone flip 3g one ).. is this normal?

Well, yes i've heard is slower than K700 and of course K750 because of its big screen. Try to upgrade to the latest firmware version, perhaps it will fix it a little bit.

Welcome to the bane of the s700i!!

All firmware editions of the phone have very laggy & unresponsive menus. I only had the phone for a week or so and it was really beginning to annoy me. It would appear that the processor just cannot keep up with the UI and it is frustrating. Now have a whizzy K750i and is mucho faster and more useable....God I miss that screen though!!

Thanx for the prompt replies

I had a firmware update 2 weeks ago... did nothing

Ok so i can accept that the menus are slow. But what about super real tennis? why is that so slow? I think splinter cell is slow aswell? does anyone else have the same problem with games

also, its even slower than the v800, and thats just as old..

Yep, the games are slower as well. Am sure it's all to do with the processor and size of screen etc. Ironically, even though the S has such a nice screen, I found it quite frustrating for games....that said IMO all mobile games are gash and not worth bothering with...Buy a PSP!!

There are days when Super Real Tennis also plays slow on my K700. It's the only game that plays slow... Followed the advice of others on here suggesting that I clear up the memory but it still didn't help... I think it's time for a fw upgrade.

The reason it is slower is because of the large screen. A bog standard phone running a 320x240 res screen is bound to have troubles. It is effectively a PDA sized screen running on a mobile phone processor.

Obviously SE did not think about this when designing the screen for the S700i. If they included a faster processor it probably would have made the price of the phone even more expensive than it was.

Maybe the successor to the S700i will have a better processor, there are a lot more powerful chips out these days.
