Hey,
Im currently mid way through my 11th month on a o2 contract and have just bought a new phone off ebay(k750i) which i want to use with an o2 PAYG sim.
How do i cancel the contract so that i can use the PAYG? Do i need to wait until my 12 months is finished before i contact o2?
Id appreciate it if you could clear this up for me. Thanks. |

you need to phone up o2 and tell them you wish to temminate your contract and pay of any existing line rental which in your case should be 6 months worth of tariffs
Hope this helps

30 days notice and you pay the full amount out standing on your next billing date

Super (baz), think you've got a bit confused there
He's on his mid-way in his 11th Month on a 12th month contract....
So it means he can pay 2 weeks line rental and leave now,
or
wait 2 weeks (use the mins) and then ask for a PAC code to use on his new sim card (if he wants his old number)..... or ask for a PAC code in 2 weeks and not need 30 days notice
Please read the following thread, as it may change your mind on quiting your o2 contract
Best O2 contract deal you have heard of

thanks for clearing that up for me.
I dont need to keep my number so i think ill wait 2 weeks and then cancel it.
Although those contract deals are tempting. |

im pretty sure that if you do not want to transfer your number, then you have to give 30 days notice to cancel your contract.

Yes that's right, from month 11 you have to give them at least 30 days notice to quit. It's still 30 days if you wait until 12 months so effectively you're paying for 13 months. O2 are famous for taking ages to pay back any refund though (don't forget you're one month in advance).
They're not obliged to transfer your number to PAYG altough they tend to. |
