Hi,

All my J-pegs have changed to "VDscript Script file" and wont open....i have over 400 pictures.....thank god for my zip drive, i had backups. Has anyone heard of this happeneing before? Any advice?

there are a few different viruses making vbs files of jpg files... like Loveletter for instance... run your antivirusprogram to clean your computer...

Yes - it's most probably a virus.
Go to Symantec.com and check out the virus descriptions and ways to clean your computer and get rid of the virus. This will be under the Security Response section. I've attached the link below:

Its more likely to be a worm rather than a virus. Are you using Microsoft Outlook or any such mail programs? I guess you got that worm from one of your mails. Symantec also has a section to deal with worms. Look that up as well if you don't detect any virus.

Isn't that virus at least 18 months old? if anyone now gets an email with \"a love letter for you\" as an attachment wouldn't they be suspicious. considering the ammount of publicity the virus got at the time.

If anyone's looking for an anti-virus program I'd recommend Kaspersky Anti Virus (www.kaspersky.com) - I got WinCiH a couple of years ago and it was the only program that managed to save me from total destruction.

Use MCafee might sound more reasonable but the v5.5 up OK
