It is a mobile service provider like airtel, orange etc...afaik, it doesn't make handsets although O2 branded phones are available.

Theoretically o2 gprs may work here if he has an o2 sim card and he is on roaming here in india. It will depend on the service provider in india who has a tie-up with o2.

So ya r tellin me it's not gonna work.

The only reason i was asking was bcoz some guy txt3.net forum told me that he knows a way for free sms, mms and GPRS country no bar:-D. But he is demanding some commission for it. I thought this is was the trick.
Sorry for trouble buddies.

No 02 won't work in India. They are a service provider in the UK. It was part of British Telecom and it was then called BT Cellnet. As Whizz said above it will work with roaming in India. I had used it on roaming in Kerala and it worked on (or rather they have associations with) BPL mobile and Escotel but that was last year so now the situation might have changed . But you won't be able to get free gprs using 02 settings in India
Knowledge is two fold. Knowing a subject or knowing where to find out about a subject. I rely on both... That is why I come here.
