W800 - O2 Upgrade? |

Why is it that O2 says that W800 is out of stock when i try and upgrade?
Every other company seems to have it in stock when i want to order, evn Carphone warehouse and Phone 4U have it in stock! |

I called O2 about the upgrade today and was told that they won't be on general release to their customers for a couple of weeks, in order for more 'snagging' to be done - don't know how true this is, or whether she just told me that because they're out of stock already... |

O2 probaly have a backlog of orders already for these phones,
or there just saying that cos they have'nt a clue basically..
ive asked o2 online for phones which int available and they cannot give a straightforward answer.
best thing to do is just wait till the general release and count your lucky stars

Hmm - strange - maybe I'll call them again, otherwise I might cancel my existing phone and get a new one - I can get a cheaper tariff than my existing one then!  Guess it's no really big deal to change my mobile number - as long as I remember to let everyone know!
Actually, I don't mind waiting - so long as I have it before my honeymoon on 1st November!

Me too! I'm counting on this for all my gadgety needs... plus it's the only way I'll ever remember to keep a camera with me! *sigh* I love that phone (will be better than my current N*kia *gasp*!) |

you know if you don't get it on release then you visit this forum and see all the faults with it here from other users then who knows you prob wish you never bothered with it.. 
does happen everyphone ive seen here has it's issues with the members

@ Miss UK - that's true... get all the snagging benefits without spending a penny!
I just spoke to someone at o2 again... she made more sense... it's on the website, but for some reason they (as in telephone service) won't get the phone for a couple of weeks - she didn't know why they were behind, but at least it made more sense! |

phone now via upgrade it is in stock, they tried to charge me £50 for the handset when i spend around £35 a month, i said i want my PAC code because i can get the phone for a £5 via o2 student online she then said she can take up to £50 off the handset so i can have it for free, she then tried to sell me insurence lol, i already have it if she looked on the accounnt, i was gonna try and get the discount 500 tarriff but im happy with online 200 for £15pm |

i phoned yesterday about an upgrade and was told they'd be getting more later this week but not many so i'd be lucky to get one...then tried to persuade me to get another handset. i just tried calling again in light of the last post but can't get through....i take it o2 shops won't deal with upgrades for o2 online accounts? |

well i just got one!!! finally got through and they tried telling me it was £99.99 and they couldn't budge on the price! So i said I might as well just start a new contract and pay £29.99 for the phone. All of a sudden he says they can knock £50 plus give me £10 of my line rental for next three months effectively giving me the phone for £19.99. So make sure you haggle!! Just hope it arrives now! Can't wait! Thanks to all the other posters for the info. |
