Just a note on K700 and how tough it actually is.

Dropped mine from a height of 20 metres, bouncing off stuff all the way to the floor.

When I got down to ground level the phone was just sittin there, all dead looking.

Tried the power button and Hey Presto, it sprang to life.

Only damage was a small chip out of one corner!!

Not bothered about the case, I've ordered my K750 which should be here soon.

I wonder if anyone has had a phone survive a bigger drop, almost unscathed?

I was off roading on my mountain bike a few weeks ago with my R310s in its holder on my handle bars when I went over quite a large bump. The phone shot out of its holder bounced off a small rock and landed in a puddle. I picked it up put it back in its holder and continued riding as it worked perfectly. It has a few more marks on it now though.

Within the first week of my owning my K700 it dropped out of a moving vehicle onto asphalt then bouncing into a gutter on the side...a couple of tiny scratches and it worked perfectly... Since that night though I've been extra careful with my precious...bought a see-through cover and haven't had any regrets apart from the fact that it retains moisture which leads to water damage.

@ brix25 - Maybe you'd get the prize for the FURTHEST a phone has travelled and survived!

After my incident went and bought a Bodyglove case. Feel much better now.

As a matter of interest I was wondering if there was a Bodyglove case for the K750? If so, how would you use the camera (slide cover and that)

i bought a neckstrap and i put it on, but if i had it on when skating, it would just get in the way, but the neckstrap was hanging
when doing a trick, my arms flew into the air (as always) and my hand caught the neckstrap and my k7 flew into the air, rising to about 2.5 metres before falling onto some big sharp stones, of course my k7 was still working perfectly (it seems actuall damage cannot be dealt to k7, just physical appearence damage)
damage is dust in screen, and a few chips

It all depends how the phone lands...if on the battery there shouldn't be much trouble but should it land near the earphone/screen prepare for some expensive repairs.

The damage to mine was at the top, right next to the earpiece. I guess I was just really lucky!!

my backup phone (k700) is a CHAMP... while i found the casing chips somewhat easily on top, the phone itself has survived MANY a dropping without any problems.... ::fingers crossed::

Had a few fones, p900's surivied quite a few drops... but im pretty proud of my 6310i!

it's.....:

Been thrown out a car doing 40mph...
Dropped 1 story
Been thrown up over by a random drunk girl...
and used in the shower a few times to call/text

And it stil works fine! I've changed the covered 4/5 times, but it's worth it, it's a good loyal fone.
