"Stripes" in low light photo's, does every K750i owner have this problem? |

I just tested my K750i on holiday (next to my IXUS S500). And the photo's were just great. Except for the low light photo's. Almost all low light foto's have stripes on them. I think it is a compression problem but I am not sure.
You're thoughts please. Is it a compression problem (so wait for new firmware) or should I return the phone and get a new one?
Thanks in advanced for all the wise advice
Henk

yup it gets worse in the dark, this issue came with the newer firmwares, they didn't have it in the previous ones

So I should not worry to much? Everyone is having this problem? So it should be fixed with the new firmware (or the 1 after that)?

Just to be clear... Is this a relatively new issue, definitely not present in the older firmware? (And thus we can hopefully expect a fix in the next update).
I had just assumed it was a hardware issue with the camera being ineffective for low light conditions, and thus it'd never be fixed. |

Excellent . Well, presuming SE don't continue to deteriorate the quality with each new firmware as they have so far! |

You've got to remember that the JPG's have been compressed a lot. You get a full 2MP pic weighing in at around 500k or so, whereas it could in reality be a few Megs.

yeah, se should allow us to set the compression rate ourselves, for people with large memorysticks |

I had exactly the same stripes and blue lines with R1A. I have taken many pics with each firmware and have noticed no differance at all between them, apart from now I have smaller file sizes. |

I think the reason for the changes in compresson/quality has to do with processing power and storage speed. A better (larger) file takes longer to save thats probably why se lowered the image quality. And therefore its not given that the "problem" will go away with new fw.

Thanks for all the information. But if I understand Cloysterpete5 right, there have always been low light stripes. So improvement might not be in sight. |

By the way, the boat is as fast as it looks. |

About two weeks ago i started to get these lines. Not just in low light. The auto focus would also make a screaming noise and the phones screen would flicker different colours. The lines were also there when i used the flash attachment. I took my k750 into my nearest repairer and they re installed the firmware and did a full reset. My phone has been great ever since with no lines at all in the pictures. Just need to find all the original content that the phone should have on it.
