Hi guys
I'm about to do the firmware update ... I've got the DSS-25 to do so. I just wanted to ask real quick, once I do the update do I lose all of my contacts and every thing else with it? or not it's sort of safe. and one more thing, I've installed the drivers for dss25 and I've hooked it up through my USB port, now once I put the phone on it I can't do any thing ... it says I can't synchronise ... will it be a problem and how can I fix it?
thanks in advance ... peace out! |

u will lost every thing in your contact, message and etc just like you first bought the phone.
Do a back up before you flash it.
some tips
1. remove memory stick
2. fully charge your battery
3. remove charger from crandle
4. off your firewall
5. do not remove your phone from crandle when flashing

no you will not lose anything by doing a firmwareupdate, unless the firmware update fails horribly during the update, and you need get a total reflash at a servicecentre.
But then your worries are of a different kind than losing your settings.
Only a settings reset will erase settings and only master reset or a total reflash will erase the rest.
A simple firmwareupdate using the official SEUS will not change anything except update your firmware.

the latest is R2AY004 you need a dss-25 or dss-20. go to the website and in k700i support you will see the Sony Ericsson Update Service (SEUS)

Where do you get this crap from? It is not true at all. If you do not know, don't advise.
