Had a 750i for a short period on Orange but returned it as the camera cover was faulty....have been using a sharp whilst I decided what to do.
Went to CPW today to buy a 02 PAYG (GSM) 750i for £250 but was gutted to find they are now £290 and that CPW have decided not to sell them for the time being as they need to use the stock for new contracts etc. I could buy a GSM 750i for £300 but this is a bit more than I really want to pay.
My mate has a brand spanking, mint condition S700i that is GSM and totally unbranded...it has the latest firmware and is boxed as new with headset and memory card etc....I can have this for £160. Have had a bit of a play with the phone and whilst I do prefer the 750i due to SMS tone choice and size etc the S700i do's seem to be a quality handset...much prefer the build quality, lovely large screen and also the camera cover (really do not like the 750i camera cover).
Anyway, £160 seems a good price and just wondered what others thought.....I am concerned about the size of it as it is a chunky bugger but imagine would get used to this....spose can always sell it on if i don't like it and wouldn't have thought would lose much money.
TBH, if I had a monry no object choice would probably go for the 750i even though i hate some aspects of it....but for a £140 difference think the s700i may keep me happy for a short while. So, £160 for S700i...is that a good price?

Thats too expensive for the S700i, They are nothing in comparison to the K750i. Excellent Unbranded S700is go for £140 on ebay. The other thing I'll say to you is, Go back to CPW and get the K750i on PAYG because all they do is give you the sim free handset along with an o2 sim card and you save £50. Try it!

Hmm, thanks for the feedback. Am quite surprised that some are saying that the s700 is nothing compared to the k750i. Correct me if I'm wrong but the main advantage is a 2 mega pixel camera and memory up to 2GB as opposed to 128MB on the s700i. I have compared the picture quality and there are pretty comparable and I would say that pictures display a lot nicer on the s700 screen. Another thing I have noticed today is how much bigger the calender font is on the s700, think this makes a difference to the practicality of using it.
For me, the main issue is size...having compared both handsets closely the build quality on the s700i is streets ahead of the k750i and looks built to last but the trade of is the bulkiness of the phone.
Yeah, I know CPW give you a sim free handset if you buy an o2 PAYG option but this is no longer £250 with them, as I said this has now gone up to £290...further, CPW are no longer selling the 750i on o2 PAYG in store as they need the handsets for contract sales. If I was to buy the handset just sim free it is £300 (they can sell this as is not network subsidised.

if your on a budget mate, go for the s700i, the screen is amazing, pity the k750i isn't like that, although it still is amazing, the screen on the s700i is one of its best features IMO and i hope they bring out another fone witht the same sorta screen as that as it really is something. the k750i on the other hand is very small and compact, but yet it offers alot of feautres! so honestly i would get one of those

Thanks for the advice. Haggled my chum down to £130 for the s700i and am happy with that. Like I say is 'as new' so think is a fair price. My local dealer will give me £100 on the handset anyway so only stand to lose £30 in the long run. Will see how I get on with it and save a few more pennies for the k750i.....Having said that I am quite glad I didn't splash out for the 750i yesterday as I do now really like the w800i. The phone world is crazy now....better & better phones being released on a weekly basis...am amazed that the market can stand this increase in technology...spose it is consumer driven though.

Anyway, am now the proud owner of an s700i....love the screen and feels so well built and nice in the hand....just wish I could modify the SMS tone....wonder if CPW have the w800i in stock yet........!!
