Hey there i recently got given a k700 from my mate and it was locked onto Vodafone. The thing is this phone was found in his café and he put it in the lost and found for about 6 months and no one claimed it. The person was also obviously a traveler judging by the pictures on it.
Now I thought to myself if i take it into a shop they might ask where i got it and saying someone lost it sounds pretty dogey also it looks like its older than 1 year so it probably isnt in warranty.
So i decided i would try and flash it myself and brought a T28 cable from ebay. When it arrived i started looking for software and could find any anywhere. The only software i could find was software that you need to buy credits for which i dont really want to do i eventually got several emails back that i sent with some software that did work. But now what i need to do is get some firmware files which i have spent hours looking for everywhere!

Also there is the update on the SE website.. But i dont have the sync stand. Is worth taking back my t28 cable and buying a sync stand??

Does anyone know where i can get k700i firmware files without paying for them.. or at least only pay a small amount i have a T28 serial cable if some firmwares are only compatible with certain cables. my email is 'esato AT markst DOT co DOT uk'

Thanks alot!

Mark

Neither are totally free though - between £4 - £8 for a 'credit' to de-brand. You're not paying for the firmware though. You're paying for the programming expertise and time of the people who wrote the 'flashing' software. It's a small price to pay for the convenience and effort they put in.
