I thought you could only install jar files on the k700

But when i right clicked on the jad file, the sony ericsson sdk tried to install it.

.jad is a java discription file. It contains various pieces of data relating to the accompanying .jar file. Some devices need the .jad file in order to 'know what to do' with the .jar, but SE phones typically don't.
