What I reckon is that the prototype X1s we've all seen pictures of were running WM 6.1. Thats for sure. But I think the reason SE were so defensive about people touching them and finding out which version they run was because it will be changed by production.
See, having WM 6.1 will put some people off because it's not the latest and greatest. So SE might lose sales there for no reason because they could be putting a later version on the device.
I think 6.1 was put on just so they had at least something to show at the announcement. I think we will see a later version when it is finally released for sale. Of course, I am just speculating... Speculating smart.

Its a a shame the main source of info (PK) has been hounded out of the thread, cos he gives many clues if you read between his lines! hehe.
This girl is looking like my next phone, subject to future announcements, so I'm looking for all the info i can get.
Its looking very promising so far. . . . . . . . .
No disrespect to Mizzle, he's a great source of info, he's just more subtle than PK. hehe
Stay happy, people.

It's not WM7. has clearly said that it's running "Windows Mobile 6", and not WM 6.0 or WM 6.1. Which is more than understandable seeing that the OS is not yet announced.

Youre not talking about a firmware update your talking about an entire OS update. Judging form the looks of WM7 i doubt they would allow it to be recieved via an update, that would be too easy.
Unless you have a link that says otherwise (which if you do I apologise for now) then id say your taling 100% crap..

Not when SE have messed about with the Windows software. Upgrades are device-dependent.
