Hey raiderski!
I saw your pics on your flicker for w800, did you use any software like noiseware to remove the noise?
Or did you mod your driver with a VERY low shutter speed ( like more than 3s?? ) ?
I'm using Ultra_superdriver 6.7u2 but the shutter speed , even on max, is around 2-3s. I had read before that SPU's driver could go up to 6s.
Is that actually possible in your driver OR in ultra?

no noise removing tools - never ever I was using only long exposure time by manual shutter speed or EM/ENM and that's all. I don't know what is max exposure time for K750 but if text "saving" appeared on screen 6s after you pressed snapshot key this doesn't mean that exposure time was 6s. thanks to K800 now I know that this time is for sure not exposure time only, there's also compression attempts and jpeg creation process. my longest shot took ~8s but when I repeated the same shot it took only ~5s. ~3s less but there wasn't any differences on both snapshots, verified in home on PC monitor
don't pay too much attention on settings, if you think that light is not enough - use EM/ENM and noise will be reduced as much as possible
DangeloDH
+0.7 = Shutter Speed
1.0 = automatic
1.1 = normal mode (EM)
= night mode (ENM)
1.2 - 4.0 = normal mode (1/6400s - 1/8s)
1.2 - 3.0 = night mode (1/40s - 2s)
(press and free snapshot key to enable/disable preview)
or use config tool to make EM/ENM permanent (always enabled) on normal or fine quality. you can do anything with config tool

Oh okay! I always thought that the the delay between the snapshot and the "saving" was only for exposure time.
Btw I have a w810i.
Okay thanks a lot, I'll follow your advice about EM / ENM
Thanks!  |

1- this driver is a nice one. in this driver the colors are not that vivid as in the others two. i think it needs more contrast. the vertical stripes are less noticeable than the ultra's.
2- why it's so dark?
3- i can see that this one is similar to the strong's and the vertical stripes are not seen at all. this has a bit of contrast which is a positive.
4- this is the one with more contrast hence the colors are much better than in the others two(imo). but the vertical stripes are more visible than in the others two. the sharpness helps this driver a bit.

hi mate
ok, thanks for the info. now, wouldnt it be much better if you both add a little bit of contrast? it would give more life to the pics

i uploaded raiderskis driver into my friends w810
ive edited it and make it a standard driver (non-supermode)
but it takes a lot of time to take a pic when in night mode (about 10 secs), while the normal mode is ok
is this usual?

tranced you're right but problem is that contrast in driver is not real contrast only but a lot of brightness too look:
http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=170579&start=1155
I reduced contrast to 00 because this value in good light conditions avoids additional brightness and improves a bit details in very bright areas. however you can try 01 and make your choice
